Executive Director & Resident Scholar, Muslim American Youth Foundation
Born in Somalia, Dr. Suufi immigrated to the United States as a teenager and settled in Tacoma, Washington. His path of sacred learning spans eleven years of formal Islamic studies: an Associate Degree in Advanced Arabic Sciences and a Bachelor's in Islamic Law from the Islamic University of Madinah, a Master's in Islamic Jurisprudence earned with high distinction, and a PhD from the Graduate Theological Foundation.
Before returning to Washington, Dr. Suufi served as Imam of Masjid Al-Ansar in Houston, Texas. Today he leads Masjid Tawhid in West Seattle, serves as President of the Washington Dugsi Association, and directs the Muslim American Youth Foundation and its Academy.
Under his direction, MAYF has grown into one of the most active Muslim community institutions in Washington State, with a full time academy, weekend Islamic school, 22 athletic teams, and weekly programs that reach hundreds of young people.
Founder, Abraham Education
Michael Abraham is an educational consultant who has trained more than 7,000 educators across public school districts and Islamic schools around the country. He holds a Master's in Education with a specialization in behavior management, taught for three years in Saudi Arabia, and has spent his career helping schools build calm, structured, high expectation classrooms.
At MAYF Academy, Michael serves as Advisor of Instruction and School Operations. He works directly with the Director, Principal, and administrative team on classroom observation cycles, monthly teacher professional development, organizational structure, family partnership systems, and schoolwide improvement planning.
The engagement began in early 2026 and continues through the 2026-27 school year, with weekly working sessions alongside school leadership and a school improvement plan the whole team built together on campus.
This is not consulting from a distance. Michael spends full days on the MAYF campus, in classrooms and working sessions with the Director, Principal, and administrative team. The systems the school runs on were built together, in the room, by the people who use them.
