Who We Serve

Elementary and middle grades, one family at a time

MAYF Academy serves students from kindergarten through the middle grades on the MAYF campus in Burien. Every enrollment begins with a conversation, because a school this size is a family, and families are built on purpose.

Tuition assistance conversations happen person to person. If cost is a concern, talk to us before you decide anything.

Academy students grow up inside MAYF's full campus life, including 22 athletic teams.

The Process

How enrollment works

Reach out and visit

Call (206) 291-7487 or email info@mayf.org and ask for the Academy office. We will schedule a campus visit so you can see classrooms in session and meet the team.

Application and records

Complete the enrollment application and share your child's records: birth documentation, immunization records as required by Washington State law, and report cards or transcripts if your child is transferring from another school.

Family partnership agreement

Sit down with our Administration Coordinator to review what MAYF asks of every family and what your family can expect from us. Enrollment at MAYF is a two-way commitment, and we put it in writing.

Welcome and orientation

New families attend the August parent orientation, where you will get your child's curriculum login, meet the teachers, and get set up on every communication channel the school uses.

The Family Partnership

What we ask of every family

Children thrive when school and home pull in the same direction. These are the commitments every MAYF family makes at enrollment, and they are a big part of why our students do well.

Read together at home

Visit the public library with your child every two weeks and read together at least one hour per week. We help families get library cards, including translation support.

The weekly check-in

Each student completes a short weekly learning check-in on Red Comet, our curriculum platform. Parents make sure it happens and glance at progress at least once a week.

Stay reachable

Check email daily and respond to individual school communication within 24 hours, even if just to acknowledge it. We will help you get set up at orientation.

Arrive on time

Drop off by 8:45 AM so students are settled for assembly and a 9:00 AM start. If your child will be late or absent, call the front desk by 8:15 AM.
